Star Wars Zero Company Kabb Build: Uppercut & AP
Build Kabb in Star Wars Zero Company with Heavy and Soldier, plan Uppercut kills for AP refunds, choose safe landing positions and avoid wasted melee turns.
On this page5 sections
For a reliable Star Wars Zero Company Kabb build, combine Heavy survivability with Soldier melee upgrades and use Uppercut to finish a weakened target. The refund depends on defeating the enemy; a collision alone is not the trigger. Soften the target first and plan where Kabb will stand if it survives.
Build priorities
| Priority | Choice | What it solves |
|---|---|---|
| Survive the approach | Heavy: Conditioning, Unstoppable, Bulwark | Kabb needs protection when a melee finish fails |
| Improve the finishing hit | Soldier: Strength, Brutal Strike | More useful than a speculative knockback bonus when damage is the bottleneck |
| Invest in Uppercut | Upgrade its actual talent line | Compare the current preview with enemy HP before buying another rank |
These priorities are editorial advice based on the documented Heavy/Soldier direction. Change one part when the mission exposes a particular weakness.
What Uppercut refunds
Epic's hands-on guide describes a successful Uppercut kill as returning the AP spent activating that skill. The extracted ability record separately lists the basic action cost and knockback. Read the complete rush preview in your game; do not assume it costs a fixed two AP or restores unrelated earlier actions.
A safer execution sequence
- Select a target whose current HP is within the full damage preview. Use another Operator to weaken it if necessary.
- Inspect the rush route, action cost and landing position. Keep a recovery plan for a miss or surviving target.
- Confirm Uppercut. Then inspect the result and Kabb's remaining AP before assigning another action.
- Spend the resulting AP on a useful attack, cover or an objective interaction. A refund is valuable only if the new action solves a problem.
A separate move before activating Uppercut is a separate expense: budget it rather than treating the whole turn as refundable.
Partners and equipment
Tel-Rea can bring a target into a better position; Trick can soften a group. A recruitable Astromech can help when Kabb is one AP short of a useful action. With Jae, allocate different finishing targets so her execution does not remove the enemy you were counting on for Uppercut.
Choose accuracy or damage Mods according to the actual weapon preview. Bring a recovery Utility if Kabb's approach puts him beyond the Medic's reach. On a wide map, use ranged pressure until a safe melee opportunity appears rather than spending the whole turn chasing a healthy enemy.
Correction and sources
Reviewed October 8, 2026. This revision replaces the former fixed +1 AP loop and unsupported talent names. EA's Patch 1.1 notes do not substantiate the earlier claimed Uppercut collision fix. The build plan is a sourced recommendation, not a reported in-house playtest.
