Star Wars Zero Company System Requirements
Official Star Wars Zero Company system requirements cover minimum 1080p/30 and recommended 1440p/60 PC specs, RAM, GPU, CPU, storage, OS, and DirectX 12.
On this page+
The official Star Wars Zero Company system requirements call for Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, DirectX 12, and 50 GB of storage. Minimum hardware targets 1080p at 30 fps on Low with 16 GB RAM and a GTX 1080-class GPU, while recommended hardware targets 1440p at 60 fps on High with 32 GB RAM and an RTX 3080 or RX 7800 XT. These are performance targets, not guarantees for every mission or patch.
Minimum PC requirements
EA lists a Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5-8400 as the minimum CPU. The minimum memory requirement is 16 GB RAM, and supported baseline graphics choices are an AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, Intel Arc B580, or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080. DirectX 12 support and 50 GB of free storage are also required.
The intended output for this tier is 1920 by 1080 at 30 frames per second using Low graphics settings. Matching one part does not compensate for missing another; for example, a newer entry-level GPU cannot fix insufficient system memory. Laptop parts with similar names may also run at lower power than their desktop equivalents.
Recommended PC requirements
The recommended CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i7-10700K. EA raises system memory to 32 GB and names the Radeon RX 7800 XT or GeForce RTX 3080 for graphics. The target is 2560 by 1440 at 60 frames per second using High settings.
Windows 11 is recommended, although the requirement page also lists 64-bit Windows 10. DirectX 12 and 50 GB of storage remain the stated software and capacity requirements. Recommended does not mean every setting is at maximum or that frame rate can never drop during heavy effects.
Requirements comparison
| Component | Minimum target | Recommended target |
|---|---|---|
| Performance | 1080p, 30 fps, Low | 1440p, 60 fps, High |
| OS | Windows 10/11 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit recommended |
| CPU | Ryzen 5 2600X / Core i5-8400 | Ryzen 7 3700X / Core i7-10700K |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 32 GB RAM |
| AMD GPU | Radeon RX 5600 XT | Radeon RX 7800 XT |
| Nvidia GPU | GeForce GTX 1080 | GeForce RTX 3080 |
| Intel GPU | Arc B580 | No Intel model listed |
| API | DirectX 12 | DirectX 12 |
| Storage | 50 GB | 50 GB |
The table reproduces the official targets rather than estimating equivalents. A newer model may perform similarly, but architecture, VRAM, power limit, driver quality, and upscaling support all affect the result. Look for benchmarks of your exact device when it is not one of the named parts.
How much RAM do you need?
Sixteen gigabytes is the official minimum, so a machine with 8 GB does not meet the published specification. Windows, launchers, browsers, capture tools, and overlays share that memory with the game. Close unnecessary applications before launching, especially if the system sits at the minimum.
Thirty-two gigabytes is the official recommendation and provides more room for 1440p High, background services, and longer sessions. Adding RAM may reduce paging or stutter on a constrained system, but it cannot repair a weak GPU or a software crash. Check Task Manager during a reproducible scene before buying an upgrade based on guesswork.
GPU and VRAM expectations
The GTX 1080 and RX 5600 XT minimum choices indicate that an old or very low-power integrated GPU is not the intended experience. Intel Arc B580 is explicitly included at the minimum tier, but current drivers remain important. An RTX badge alone does not prove suitability when a mobile GPU has a different performance envelope from the desktop RTX 3080 recommendation.
Start with the preset linked to the official target, then adjust the heaviest options one at a time. Environment Geometry Detail has been associated with performance or stability improvements when disabled in community troubleshooting, although visual quality changes. Use a repeatable mission or camera position to compare instead of judging unrelated scenes.
CPU expectations
Turn-based combat still uses CPU time for simulation, animation, enemy behavior, streaming, and draw-call preparation. The eight-core recommended CPUs are older desktop models but remain materially stronger than many low-power handheld chips. A CPU limit can produce inconsistent frame pacing even when average GPU utilization looks modest.
Avoid comparing only clock speed or the Core i7 label across generations. A modern six-core desktop CPU can outperform an older named part, while a thin laptop's thermal limit can reverse the comparison. Independent benchmarks are more useful than family names when choosing a replacement.
Storage and installation space
EA lists 50 GB of storage for both tiers. Keep additional free space for shader caches, temporary update files, launcher overhead, screenshots, and save backups. An update may need more working room than its final installed size.
An SSD is sensible for a modern game even though the summarized requirement does not name a specific drive type. It can improve asset streaming and loading compared with a slow hard drive, but it will not increase a GPU-bound frame rate. Install on a healthy volume and avoid filling it to the last few gigabytes.
Windows and DirectX 12
The game requires a 64-bit Windows environment and DirectX 12-capable graphics hardware. Apply current stable Windows updates and a current GPU driver before diagnosing repeatable launch failures. For systems using Frame Generation, community reports also point to Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling and fullscreen mode as settings worth checking.
Those options are not universal fixes. Changing several operating-system and graphics settings at once makes the cause harder to identify, so record the baseline and test one change at a time. Restore a setting if it makes no difference.
Can Steam Deck meet the requirements?
Steam Deck does not map neatly to the named desktop CPUs and GPUs, and Steam officially marks the game Unsupported. Its shared memory and handheld power budget make the 1080p desktop minimum target especially difficult to apply. Starting the game under Proton is not the same as meeting the expected performance and usability standard.
Early community accounts report poor local performance and a soft image when settings are reduced enough to chase frame rate. Treat Steam Deck performance as experimental, with remote play or a more powerful system as the safer choice. Do not buy only on the assumption that a later patch will guarantee support.

The specifications above come from EA's official PC system requirements and were checked on August 29, 2026. The Steam listing provides the live store and feature context. If a patch changes the targets, the official EA page should take precedence over this dated summary.
